Within walking distance, Bantham has a cosy pub (The Sloop) with excellent food and the nearby towns of Kingsbridge and Salcombe have a wide range of restaurants, bars and shops and are also hubs for sailing and other water-based activities.
With miles of coast and countryside to explore from the doorstep, Longfield provides all you could wish for and more. The Oyster Shack at Bigbury on Sea, Gastrobus, The Beachhouse in Thurlestone are all well recommended places to visit.
Bantham is perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding whether on the beach or in the estuary. A trip up or down the Avon estuary paddling with the tide takes approximately 90 minutes and is an idyllic experience.
Triocean Surf is an approved RNLI surf and kayak hire centre located just five minutes away from Bantham Beach, South Devon’s finest surfing beach. With weather conditions permitting, they hire surfboards, wetsuits, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, bodyboards and more all year round in South Devon.
Based on Bantham Beach itself, their highly experienced and SurfingGB qualified instructors provide professional tuition and coaching for beginners through to elite levels in a safe and friendly environment. Bantham Surfing Academy also offers supervised surfing sessions & Kids club.

This is held annually on Bantham beach. It is the proud host of this team work event that brings together fitness families to celebrate their similarities and differences. This is one of the top international cross fit competitive events.
The Swoosh is a world class 6km swim organized by the Outdoor Swimming Society. This hugely enjoyable event is now in its fourth year at Bantham.
